Hello Everyone,
My name is Joshua Booker and I am a first year history teacher. My family and I just moved up to the Charlotte area from Georgia where I have been working with students for more than ten years now in varying capacities from camp counselor to teacher. I received my Bachelor of Science in History from Shorter University and I received my Master of Arts in Teaching from Shorter University as well. I am excited to connect with your students and develop historical content that connects with them on a personal level. As a historian I have always taken it upon myself to ensure that every story is told. I go out of my way to ensure that the achievements and stories of people of color from throughout history are highlighted whereas they may be omitted in some texts in favor of a more Eurocentric view of history. There is a lot of history out there and it is my goal to condense it into 8 engaging units that will not only help your student learn, but grow as a person.
