Greetings beloved scholars, parents and guardians. I am Ms. Miller, a certified secondary science educator. I am from the DMV (DC, Maryland and VA). I am an alumni of the best prestigious HBCU universities around and that is Thee Johnson C. Smith University and Norfolk State University. I am a currently a scholar at UNCC pursuing a higher degree in education. My theory in education is NOT that you can not learn a content, is it is WHO you are learning from! Know that I already trust you, admire you and believe so much in you. However, you have to believe just as much in order for US to be successful. I say US because we are in this TOGETHER!!!

I will be teaching two different contents this 2021-2022 school year: Chemistry and Physical Science {click on subjects to see FULL syllabus}

Chemistry Description:

Chemistry is the study of the structure and composition of matter that makes up living things and their environment. Chemistry also deals with the study of the changes of matter and the mechanisms by which changes occur. This class will cover topics such as matter, chemical reactions, solutions, and nuclear chemistry. Virtual labs and/or simple at home labs are conducted for most chapters. Lab reports must be submitted, organizing data and answering questions for the experiment. Attendance is very important for keeping up with work in Chemistry. It is imperative that scholars keep up with lecture notes and assignments.

Physical Science Description:

Physical Science teaches scholars through inquiry and investigation. This course is laboratory-based science class in which students will study the principles of chemistry and physics that include matter, energy, structure of atoms, chemical reactions, forces, and motion. Scholars will learn many abstract concepts as well as problem-solving techniques in Physical Science. Attendance is very important for keeping up with work in Physical Science. It is imperative that scholars keep up with lecture notes and assignments.

Block Schedule:

1st Period: Physical Science

2nd Period: Chemistry

3rd Period: Chemistry

4th Period: Chemistry

Supplies NEEDED for BOTH contents are as followed:

Composition notebook, tape, scissors, highlighter, pen/pencils, glue stick, tape, scientific calculator (it does not have to be a graphic calculator), color pencils, index cards, chrome book (given by school), chrome book charger and a 12 inch ruler.
