8th Grade ELA Teacherporch.email@example.com
Greetings Wildcat Family. I am excited to be working with 6th grade ELA team and look forward to a great year of academic growth. I bring to you 9 years of experience as an educator (4 years in Middle School). I was born in Brooklyn and raised in both NY and NC. I am an alumnus of North Carolina Central University and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. When I am not educating youth, I am creating memories with my husband and 3 children, attending social events, serving others by providing community service and catering delicious meals.
Eighth grade students will use oral language, written language, and media and technology for expressive, informational, argumentative, critical, and literary purposes. They also explore the structure of language and study grammatical rules in order to speak and write effectively. While emphasis in the eighth grade is placed on personal expression, students should also: interpret and synthesize information; develop an understanding of the foundations of an argument; recognize individual perspectives in response to personal, social, cultural, and historical issues; critically analyze print and non-print texts; use effective sentence construction and edit writing for improvements; interpret and evaluate a wide range of literary and informational texts.
