College and Career Readiness & Counseling (CCR)
A native of Charlotte, Deas earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast communications from Elon University and a master’s degree in Sports Marketing from The Citadel. Before Sugar Creek, Deas worked in the sports communications industry at Elon, Wofford College, The Citadel and continues to work with UNC Charlotte and the Carolina Panthers. Deas has worked as the Student External Opportunities Coordinator since the high school’s opening in 2014.
Student External Opportunities Coordinator
In an effort to further prepare our students for college and life, we believe that students need experience outside the classroom to develop a well-thought-out life plan. There is no better way to know if something is for you than to experience it first-hand. Over the course of their high school careers, students will participate in various opportunities for community service and outreach projects, job shadowing, and pre-college leadership programs. 270 completed hours of external opportunities are required as a part of the SCCS graduation requirements.
Alumni Services
The purposes of Alumni Services is to assist with the progression and success of SCCS alumni as they progress and adjust to life after high school. The goal is to maintain relationships and open communication with graduates which will allow the team to better assist in identifying and addressing the various needs of our former students while collecting data to assist with teaching current students necessary skills needed for successful post secondary living.
