How to apply

Prospective families of Sugar Creek Charter School must submit a lottery application due to the limited seats available for the 2024-2025 school year.

We are currently accepting lottery applications for the 2024-2025 school year. The lottery will be open for prospective families beginning January 4, 2024 and ending on February 5, 2024 at midnight. To begin the lottery application process, click on the following link: Click here to begin. Applications submitted after February 5, 2024 will automatically be waitlisted.

Sugar Creek Charter School uses a program called Scribbl to collect lottery applications for the 2024-2025 school year. For more information on how to apply, click on the following link.

Admissions Standards

  • Sugar Creek Charter School does not have an application fee or tuition.
  • Students must be at least 5 years of age by August 31, 2024.
  • In order to eligible for admission, the prospective student(s) or guardian are required to be a resident of North Carolina
  • Sugar Creek Charter School does not limit admission to students on the basis of intellectual ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, athletic ability, disability, race, creed, gender, national origin, religion, or ancestry.

Lottery Process

During the week of February 15, 2024, families will be notified of their child’s status for the 2024-2025 school year. Based on the seat availability per grade level, prospective students will either be offered a seat or waitlisted.

Enrollment & Registration

Families that are offered seats for the 2024-2025 school year will have 2 weeks to respond to the seat offer. If a family declines the offered seat or does not respond within two weeks, the seat will be offered to the first family on the waitlist.

If the offered seat is accepted, an enrollment application will be provided for the prospective parent. The enrollment application must be completed in its entirety along with the following documents to complete the enrollment process:

  • Government-issued ID of the parent and/or legal guardian
  • 2 Proofs of NC residency with utility bill (excluding cell phone bill and Internet bill) and mortgage or lease agreement, etc.
  • Student’s birth certificate
  • Most recent report card/transcript
  • Copy of recent EOG scores
  • Court/Guardianship documents (if applicable)
  • NC Health Assessment Form
    • State law requires that every child entering public schools in N.C. for the first time receive a health assessment. The assessment must occur within 12 months prior to entering school. The medical provider, parent or guardian must provide a completed health assessment transmittal form to the principal of the school on or before the child's first day of attendance.
  • Updated immunization records
  • Any IEP, 504, or behavioral plans

Failure to provide any of the required documents will result in your child’s seat being declined.

Are you interested in taking a tour? We are offering opportunities for prospective parents of incoming Kindergarten through 8th grade students to tour the Sugar Creek Charter School main campus.
