Welcome to Spanish with Señorita Blackwell! You are in for an exciting year of learning and growth! The objective of this course is to expand student knowledge of both the Spanish language and Hispanic culture. Spanish is the fourth most spoken language in the world and represents the fastest growing foreign language in the United States. A familiarity with, if not mastery of Spanish, will permit students to be more competitive components of the increasingly integrated global economy of the twenty-first century. In this class you will work hard, but your efforts will be worthwhile. Student preparedness, attentiveness, and participation are essential for success in this course. I look forward to meeting each one of you and to having a successful school year!
