Hello my name is Rasheka Darrisaw. I am originally from Georgia! A small place where cows are in your back yard, Dublin. I moved to Charlotte when I was only 10. I've been here for more than half of my life and I don't see myself moving back. Growing up I also attended Sugar Creek Charter School. It feels great to be teaching on my old stomping grounds. I studied undergrad here at Johnson C. Smith University and received my Graduate degree at Ashford University. My "why" for teaching has always been students for me. My plans was to never teach however I knew whatever I did in my future career wise had to be centered around children. I am really thankful for Ms. Barnes, who put me in the position I am in today. I started my career here at Sugar Creek in 2018. I have built so many relationships with so many students around the school. Watching them grow from children to young adults makes me the happiest. My students/children will forever be my "WHY".
