My name is Mrs. Jenny McGuire and I am a speech language pathologist (SLP) at Sugar Creek Charter School. My husband and I moved to this area from Tennessee about 3 years ago, in order to be closer to family. We currently live in Indian Land, SC with our 2 teenage daughters and 3 family pets: a dog, a dwarf bunny, and a crested gecko. I began my journey as an SLP over 25 years ago, after earning my Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Memphis. I've spent most of my career working with children who have communication impairments related to speech problems and/or language deficits. Helping students with communication disabilities to achieve their individualized goals is a very rewarding experience. Speech and language impairments can make it hard for students to learn and express their knowledge, which impacts their academic performance and development. As an SLP at Sugar Creek Charter School, I strive to help my students achieve personal growth and success by working with them in small groups, collaborating with their educators, and communicating with their families.
