2024-2025 School Year Information

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year at Sugar Creek Charter School!

We are thrilled to welcome back our returning families and extend a warm welcome to our new families. Thank you for choosing Sugar Creek Charter School for your child’s academic journey. As we embark on this new school year together, we have some exciting announcements to share.

First Day of School

The first day of school for all students (K-12) will be on Monday, August 5, 2024.

  • Main Campus (K-8th grade) doors open at 8:00 am. Instruction begins at 8:30 am. Dismissal begins at 3:30 PM.
  • High School (9th-12th grade) doors open at 6:45 am. Instruction begins at 7:15 am. Dismissal begins at 2:15 PM.

Please note: If your child is absent from school for the first three days of the school year and we do not hear from you,
their enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year will be withdrawn.

Open House

Kindergarten - 8th grade

We are excited to invite you to the Sugar Creek Charter School Open House on August 1, 2024, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at our main campus for grades K-8. This event promises a fun-filled evening with free haircuts, backpacks, and school supplies. Enjoy complimentary hotdogs and chips, participate in raffles, and connect with community organizations. Most importantly, this is a wonderful opportunity for you and your children to meet their teachers and gear up for the new school year. We look forward to seeing you there and sharing in the excitement for a great year ahead!

Mercy Church, in collaboration with Sugar Creek Charter School, will host the Open House Event, also known as Stock Sugar Creek, on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Join us for an evening of free food and giveaways. Please note that your RSVP is REQUIRED. Link: Stock Sugar Creek RSVP Link

High School

Senior (12th Grade) Class Open House: Wednesday, July 31, 2024 beginning at 6:30pm. Location: Sugar Creek Charter School J. Frank Martin High School, 7815 Old Concord Road, Charlotte, NC 28213

School Uniforms

Sugar Creek Charter School has implemented a mandatory daily uniform policy for every student. This policy serves the purpose of maintaining a positive climate, order, and discipline within the school environment. By adhering to the uniform policy, we strive to create an atmosphere conducive to learning and promoting a sense of belonging for all students.

The components of a student school uniform is listed below:

  • Appropriate grade level monogram shirt
    • Elementary School (K - 5th): Navy collared shirt
    • Middle School (6th - 8th): Burgundy collared shirt
    • High School: Yellow collared shirt
    • High School Seniors: Gray collared shirt
  • Khaki bottoms
  • Solid black shoes
  • Solid black belt
  • Socks must be solid white, black, blue, or burgundy

High School Technology Fees

There is a $45.00 Technology Usage Fee which allows students to use technology devices for instructional purposes throughout the school year. We ask that all fees be paid by the week students return to school, with the final deadline for payment being 9/6/2024. Non-payment will prohibit your child from using school technology. Has your address changed?

If your address has changed over the summer, please visit our main campus at 4101 North Tryon Street to complete a change of address form. Be sure to bring a copy of your government ID and two proofs of your new address. To ensure your child has transportation to the new home address, it is important to provide the change of address as soon as possible.
